Wimbledon School of English

The school is located in the centre of Wimbledon, 5 minutes from the station, shops and amenities, and 10 minutes from the Village and its tennis courts. Established in 1964 and of a medium size, it welcomes its students in a lovely, calm setting with a large garden. A multimedia room and Internet access are available free of charge. 180 students of more than 30 nationalities congregate there. One of the advantages of our partner school is that it has a good network of host families that are located close to the school.

Boende

Host family
Many of Wimbledon’s inhabitants work in London and have located themselves in the suburb to enjoy a better lifestyle. The success of a language course overseas depends a lot on the quality of accommodation. Our partner school has selected a good network of host families located at about 20 minutes from the school on foot. Students have their own room and breakfast and dinner are provided. It’s a great opportunity to practise English with the locals and to improve your linguistic skills in conjunction with classes.
Student house (from 18 years)
Located in South West Wimbledon, 10 minutes by bus and 30 minutes on foot from the school, students can choose to stay in a beautiful English house with a garden. It accommodates up to 6 students in individual bedrooms and also has a well-equipped kitchen. This option is particularly suited to more independent students. Check-in is on Saturdays between 12:00 and 17:00. It is also possible to arrive up until 20:00, but at an extra cost.

Fritidsaktiviteter

The school offers a range of extracurricular activities. Students can choose to play football, tennis, squash and other sports, or to take salsa dance lessons to prepare for the nights out organised by the school. Wimbledon is only a quarter of an hour from London by train, allowing students to take advantage of all that the capital offers in the way of shows, concerts and other world-class cultural events. The school also offers numerous social and sporting activities, allowing students to meet and practise the language outside of the classroom. Around the end of June, the Grand Slam tournament gives you the opportunity to experience a great sporting event that gives Wimbledon and international ambiance.
