The Melbourne College of English is located in a fully refurbished building on Flinders Lane, the main street of the city-centre that is crossed perpendicularly by animated laneways, studded with bars, boutiques and all sorts of speciality stores. This ideal location, close to trams as well as the train and bus stations, allows students easy access to all that this cultural metropolis has to offer. The school has about a dozen spacious and comfortable classrooms, equipped with audio-visual material. Students also benefit from a computer room and a student lounge where it is easy to meet other student, as well as the teachers and staff who are known for their kindness and approachability. The school also has classrooms and common rooms in another building, located two minutes away on the same street.

Boende

Host family
Host families offer accommodation in individual bedrooms, with two meals provided per day. They are located in the city’s residential districts, about twenty minutes from the centre of town. They have been selected by our partner school to offer you a warm welcome in the most pleasant conditions.

Apartments
It is also possible to stay in a furnished apartment on request. The school will help you to find this type of independent accommodation according to your tastes. For this reason, we recommend that students interested in this option book the first couple of weeks of their stay with a host family and find the desired apartment once they have arrived in Melbourne.

Fritidsaktiviteter

The school offers outings, tours and excursions as well as sports, to allow students to meet outside of class and practise the language in a natural and relaxed manner. Melbourne offers a rich program of cultural events that will satisfy lovers of art and music of all kinds. Sports enthusiasts will not be disappointed either: each year, Melbourne is home to world-class events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Australian Tennis Open and also the Golf Open, not to the mention local events such as the Australian football championships. From June to August, the mountain chains located a few hours from Melbourne become the country’s most fashionable ski resorts.
