Summer camp (13–17 years)

ESL-Ecole Suisse de Langue

Our partner school is located in a magnificent building just near Lake Maggiore. The 16th century cloister and buildings housing the sports facilities offer a subtle alloy of history and modernity. The school’s teaching and sports equipment is first class: volleyball, football and basketball courts, comfortable and well-equipped classrooms (audio, video and projector equipment), computer room with free Internet access, auditorium, cinema and games room with table football and billiards.

Kurserna

The Italian lessons last 45 minutes each and take place on Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 11:45am or 12:30pm (intensive course). The experienced, competent and enthusiastic teachers are all Italian native speakers. Classes are organised according to level and have a maximum of 14 students. On the day of arrival, all students sit a test in order to evaluate their language level and the class that will suit them best. Tests each Friday and a mini-test on Wednesdays are especially designed to evaluate the progress that you have made each week. At the end of the camp, you will receive an ESL certificate that attests to your linguistic level in Italian.

Courses start every Sunday in July, 2008.

Boende

Residence.
In Ascona, students stay in a residence in double or triple rooms, laid out like modern studios with a mezzanine level and private bathroom. The residence is located in the same building as the school and the monitors stay on site to supervise the safety and wellbeing of the students. Accommodation includes full board. All meals are taken in the cafeteria, except on Wednesday evenings, when a Beach Party is organised. A student lounge is also available for you to relax, watch a DVD or simply chat with your friends.

Fritidsaktiviteter

Football, basketball, handball, ping-pong, badminton, hiking, swimming, beach games and volleyball… you will be spoilt for choice for letting off steam after class. The school’s monitors propose numerous sports each afternoon, as well as team games: tournaments, quizzes, cluedo or treasure hunts. All these activities will allow you to get to know the other students at the school better and to practise Italian while having fun. At excursion time, you will discover Bellinzona, Locarno and Lugano, which will satisfy lovers of art and history, as well as those who like to shop… From the cinema to the disco, passing by the BBQ evenings by the lake, in Ascona, every party has its surprises and fun in store!
